巨額賞与問題でアメリカン・インターナショナル・グループ（ＡＩＧ）が炎上中。
米議会もさすがにＡＩＧに対する批判だけは党派を超えて一致団結（笑）

こうした中で米上院財政委員会のチャールズ・グラスリー上院議員（共和党）の発言が波紋を呼んでいます。

３月１６日にグラスリーはラジオ局とのインタビューでこんなことを。

「彼ら（ＡＩＧ経営陣）が日本モデルにならって、国民の前で深く頭を下げて謝罪した上で、辞任か自殺かのどちらかをすれば、私の気持ちも少しは収まるだろう」

この発言に対し、「日本企業を見習って自殺しろってことか」と突っ込まれて、
「自殺して欲しいというわけではない。態度の問題だ。」と釈明する場面も。

確かに日本長期信用銀行では経営幹部の自殺が相次いだこともありました。
何といっても山一證券社長の涙の記者会見は、世界中に強烈なインパクトを残したのでしょう。

さて、私のブログはまさに「動物農場」状態へ。
ニシキヘビからカバとマンモス、象、セイウチときて、ついにブタちゃんも登場。

New York Daily Newsにはデカデカと“A.I.G. is a P.I.G.”の大見出しが。
「ＡＩＧは豚野郎だ！」ってことですな。

In a comment aired this afternoon on WMT, an Iowa radio station, Grassley (R-Iowa) said: “The first thing that would make me feel a little bit better towards them if they’d follow the Japanese model and come before the American people and take that deep bow and say I’m sorry, and then either do one of two things — resign, or go commit suicide.”
